Abstract
A 38-year-old obese woman, G1P0, with well-controlled Type 1 diabetes and no evidence of end organ damage (L-1) is being induced with oxytocin for premature rupture of membranes at 39 weeks estimated gestational age (L-2). Her diabetes has been well controlled throughout her life and she shows no evidence of end-organ damage (L-3). The fetus is somewhat small, however, and this may represent mild fetal growth restriction (L-4). Also, her blood pressures have gone up in the last few days and she has a small amount of protein in her urine, although neither change is sufficient to make the diagnosis of preeclampsia yet (L-5).
