Abstract
The Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), the Arms Control and Regional Security (ACRS) working group that emanated from the Madrid peace, as well as bilateral Egyptian–Israeli negotiations were the focus of intense complex efforts to correct the asymmetry in nuclear weapon non-proliferation commitments in the Middle East.
