Abstract
a genus of giant eurypterids in the family Pterygotidae. Estimated at 7–8 feet long but known only from partial remains, it may be the largest arthropod known. The type species is J. rhenaniae (Germany) and the other reported species is J. howelli (Wyoming). Germany and the United States, Early Devonian, 411–406 Ma.
