Abstract
This chapter discusses the approach to assessing MRI changes in the spine and sacroiliac joints. Through analysis of multiple case presentations and examples of MRI, CT, and radiographic imaging, various spine and sacroiliac disorders are described such as degenerative disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and seronegative spondyloarthropathy, including ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease arthritis. Also illustrated are examples of infection, renal osteodystrophy, metastasis, diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH), and spinal stenosis.
