Lazy S Labiaplasty (Edge Labiaplasty)

Abstract

The lazy S labiaplasty also known as an edge or trim labiaplasty seems the easiest option to reduce hypertrophic labia minora, but still like any surgical procedure, it should be done meticulously. Just cutting the labia minora with scissors will not give us good surgical results. It is easy to end up with a too short labia or visible edge scarring when not performed the right way. Leaving too short labia or intending to do a Barbie look labia minora resection is just not right; labia minora are there for a reason; they cover our vagina entrance preventing vagina dryness and also help direct urine during miction. In Latin patient population or when the hyperpigmentation of the labia is a high patient concern, the lazy S labiaplasty is a good option, also when the patient has excess in the clitoris and a hoodplasty is also needed.
