Abstract

Ingrown toenails are a painful, relatively common condition impacting activities and quality of life. Proper nail cutting, and foot hygiene are important preventative measures, but only have a small part to play once marked nail fold hypertrophy has developed. There is a high rate of recurrent problems even following surgical intervention.
