Barriers to Care

Part of the book series: Headache ((HEAD))

Abstract

This chapter describes the barriers to effective headache care, high everywhere in the world, and in many places insurmountable by the majority of those needing care. It reports on the largely ineffective endeavours of advocacy—for more headache research and better headache care. But it finds, ultimately, glimpses of light and small successes here and there. With new initiatives, doors hitherto closed may be slowly opening.
