Abstract
The fixation of the femoral neck is indicated in young non-osteoporotic patient. The success of the procedure is totally related to the quality of the reduction. A bad reduction leads to failure of the fixation. To avoid the increase of the damage to the vascular supply to the femoral head, first the closed reduction should be done. Case 1 addresses the maneuver of the closed reduction using a fracture table and how to position the patient and the C-arm. The assessment of the quality of the reduction is discussed and finish describing how to fix with cannulated screws. Case 2 shows the maneuver to reduce the femoral neck in a radiolucent table. As a good reduction is not achieved, an open reduction through an anterior approach is described. The fixation with cannulated screws associated with medial buttress plate is described.
