Abstract

This chapter continues historical investigations covering the period from Anselm of Canterbury to Kant, including (among others) Abelard, St. Tomas Aquinas, Gassendi, Descartes, Spinoza, Locke, Leibniz, and Hume. The special attention is paid to the history of the formula veritas est adequatio intellectus et rei.
