Abstract

Research of gender and sexuality (G&S) education is impacted by multiple and conflicting legal landscapes carrying different risks and duties. This chapter argues that since researchers have an international reach—exploring both international and domestic G&S education issues and contexts—research training focussing solely on local treatments of G&S education research issues may leave future researchers sorely underprepared for the contexts in which they may study. This book chapter discusses relevant international human rights legislation provisions, national and laws and education policies on G&S education issues to help researchers considering the direction of their work.
