Abstract
Whichever way you slice it, a telescope without a stable mounting platform is of very limited use. Even at the lowest powers, the ShortTube 80 is heavier than many medium-sized binoculars, and the vibrations induced by even the steadiest hand will make seeing fine detail very difficult. Thankfully, the small size and low mass of the ShortTube 80 endears it to a wide variety of mounting arrangements to suit everyone’s tastes. The purpose of this chapter is not to provide an exhaustive catalog of all the mounting arrangements one can exploit with the ShortTube 80, but only to give an overview of the possibilities that exist.
