Abstract
The rapidly developed interaction design has been introduced into the jewelry field. The early interactive system theories were proposed to help human-computer interaction or product interaction design, having great significance as a design guideline, but not very suitable for interactive jewelry design. In this paper, we propose a new framework of interactive system theory, special for interactive jewelry design, consisting of six elements: User, Emotion, Product, Activity, Context, and Technology (UEP-ACT). We first demonstrate the necessity of ‘UPACT’ components. Through the method of statistics and user research, we then analyze the importance of ‘Emotion’. We also illustrate the mutual relationship between these six components. To identify the availability and feasibility, we use an example and take an experimental design. The aim of this proposal is to make this theory widely used in jewelry interactive design so as to create a better user experience.
