Abstract

Inguinal and ventral hernia repairs are common procedures performed by general surgeons. While variations in techniques are still being investigated to identify improved patient outcomes, robotic applications have introduced the ability to perform abdominal wall reconstruction in a minimally invasive fashion. It remains to be seen if robotic technology increases the adoption of minimally invasive techniques in inguinal hernia repair, and if this will translate into improved patient outcomes.
