Robotic Assisted Hernia Repair

Abstract

There is not much literature regarding reoperation after robotic diaphragmatic hernia repair. Because robotic technology use in foregut surgery is increasing, more patients will require reoperation. Until more studies offer guidelines for treatment of patients requiring reoperation after robotic diaphragmatic hernia repair, principles derived from laparoscopic experience with antireflux repairs and reoperations can be applied. This chapter discusses the rationale and indications for reoperation after robotic diaphragmatic hernia repair and provides surgeons with suggestions for operative management.
