Robotic Assisted Hernia Repair

Abstract

The robotic platform has revolutionized the inguinal hernia repair. Robotic transabdominal preperitoneal (rTAPP) inguinal hernia repair is accomplished with precision due to the improved visualization and wristed instrumentation provided by the robotic system. The rTAPP is a durable long-term solution for inguinal hernias with less postoperative pain, quicker return to work and a low recurrence rate. The improved technique can still experience complications. However, the benefits of the robotic console allow you to minimize conversion to open surgery and tackle these problems minimally invasively.
