Abstract
Nowadays, human beings are experiencing more problems related to vision. These problems are caused by the deterioration and degeneration of the eyes, resulting from diseases, accidents, aging or inadequate use of the eyes in risky environments. It is estimated that worldwide there are about 253 million people suffering from visual impairment [1]. The Braille writing and reading system has been developed so that people with visual disabilities have access to written information. This system is made up of units of space, called Braille cells, which consist of six points where the positions of these represent letters, numbers and characters. In order to develop technology designed for people with visual impairments, Braille tactile displays have been created to translate a text from a computer into a readable system of Braille characters. In the present work, the proposal is made to carry out the design, construction and implementation of an updated Braille visualization system so that people with visual disabilities have greater access to the information that is in electronic format. The development of this proposal arises from the need to provide an alternative that complements existing technologies designed for people with visual disabilities.
