Abstract
The first part gives an overview of current realities and issues regarding torture and the involvement of doctors, giving us a sense of the challenges facing the medical profession. This chapter opens with the concept of terrorism. The seemingly endless war on terror has functioned as a rationale for all sorts of abusive practices. Drawing from the insights of Jean Baudrillard, Claudia Card, Nel Noddings, and Hannah Arendt, we look at the connection between terrorism and torture and how the former has been used to justify the latter.
Sometimes you have to work with the devil.
