Fast-Timing Lifetime Measurement of \(^{174,176,178,180}\)Hf

Abstract

Lifetimes of yrast band states of \(^{174,176,178,180}\)Hf have been measured using fast-electronic scintillation timing or Coulomb excitation. The lifetimes of the \(2^+_1\), \(4^+_1\) states and apart from \(^{176}\)Hf also of the \(6^+_1\) states have been determined, using the slope and the centroid shift methods. By using the same setup for all isotopes of interest systematic uncertainties were reduced.
