Abstract
The chest radiograph is often the initial imaging modality for the evaluation of the heart and mediastinum. It is essential to understand the structures that make up the normal contours of the heart and mediastinum on a chest radiograph. This is necessary to detect abnormalities and understand appropriate positioning of lines and tubes.
