Physics of Fast Processes in Scintillators

Abstract

This chapter describes the fastest processes during the propagation of electronic excitations through the media, Cherenkov radiation, intraband luminescence, cross-luminescence, elastic polarization, and their relaxation. The spectral features and time profiles of these types of emission are discussed.
