Abstract
The European Space Agency is working towards the development of integrated applications, using satellite data, connectivity, positioning and other space technologies that can concur to the solution of societal problems. Space Applications are solutions that make simultaneous use of different space services and technologies. They combine different space systems (Earth observation, navigation, telecommunications, etc.) with airborne and ground-based systems to deliver solutions to local, national and global needs. The chapter discusses the different actors within ESA that are in charge of the building blocks for space applications, and the different programs that external firms in ESA member states can leverage to support the feasibility study, development and market application of integrated applications.
