Abstract

Important pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic differences in drug handling are observed in newborns, infants, and children when compared to adult patients. Therefore, knowledge of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic principles in the pediatric population may better ensure safe and effective medication prescribing.
