Abstract
This chapter will briefly review the diagnosis and management of the complete atrioventricular defect characterized by the failure of development of the atrial and ventricular septum and a single orifice AV valve. For the complete atrioventricular septal defect, the results are a balanced pair of ventricles and atria that are essentially equal in size and dimensions.
Steven P. Goldberg is a former attending cardiac surgeon who is deceased at the time of publication of this chapter.
