Abstract

Primary care sports medicine is a specialty encompassing multiple disciplines. The sports medicine physician provides broad-ranging care from musculoskeletal injuries and prevention to disease management. The focus is to maintain the health of the patient through a comprehensive approach involving injury prevention, rehabilitation, and pharmaceutical intervention.
