Abstract
Several rashes can present in early infancy, including atopic dermatitis (eczema), seborrheic dermatitis, and neonatal acne. However, these rashes typically present after 2–4 weeks of age.
Congenital erythrodermic rashes can be seen in primary immunodeficiencies including hyper IgE syndrome, Netherton syndrome or Omenn syndrome.
Omenn syndrome is thought to rise due to partial activity of mutated SCID gene proteins leading to the generation of a small number of T cell clones that can undergo oligoclonal expansion and infiltrate the skin and other organs.
Typical clinical presentation of Omenn syndrome includes erythroderma, lymphadenopathy and splenomegaly
