Abstract

  • The diagnosis of common variable immunodeficiency starts with evaluation for increased susceptibility to infection, autoimmune manifestations, granulomatous disease, or unexplained polyclonal lymphoproliferation, and rule-out of secondary cause for loss of immunoglobulin

  • Evaluations should include measurement of serum immunoglobulin levels, antibody responses to vaccination, and T lymphocyte deficiency through lymphocyte subset enumeration
