Abstract
Bloch was attacked for supporting the Moscow Show Trials of the 1930s and later tacitly supporting Stalinism. His philosophy was called obscene by some critics. In contrast, this chapter explores how the righteous attacks on Bloch as a person and philosopher may be more obscene than Bloch’s position-takings and may rationalize the dysfunctional operations of modern-day democracy.
