Abstract
Corona and the Queens Museum each continue to evolve. Programs started by the Queens Museum in Corona have secured their place in the community and extended into avenues not originally envisioned. Change is also inevitable for art museums globally. Museum leaders recognize the power that museums hold to effect political and social change and that they are held accountable for their actions by the art world, artists and scholars, and the public. Leadership values are debated and prominent figures have been fired, and once again the museum’s actions are publicly scrutinized. Cooperation ties museums to residents, artists, community organizations, and policymakers to create opportunities for mutual benefit in their shared futures.
