Abstract
The compression of a plasma with a preembedded axial magnetic field by a Z-pinch implosion and the effects of the compressed field on the plasma implosion and stagnation have been investigated by spectroscopy, 2D imaging, and interferometry. The investigation includes the evolution and spacial distribution of plasma key parameters and magnetic fields.
