Abstract

The performance of heat transfer enhancement using twisted tape inserts has been explained in this chapter. The types of twisted tapes and their impact on heat transfer enhancement for laminar, transition and turbulent flow regimes have been presented in detail. The geometrical parameters necessary to describe twisted tape and their effect on heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics have been illustrated.
