Abstract
Seed Global Health (Seed) supports health system strengthening in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) in response to a growing burden of disease in the face of a critical shortage of health workers. The University of Eswatini partnered with Seed Global Health, a founding partner of the Global Health Service Partnership (GHSP), between 2016 and 2018 to support the development and implementation of a master’s level Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program. Four US nurse practitioner GHSP Educators worked side-by-side with faculty over the 2-year partnership. The collaboration between GHSP educators and Eswatini nursing faculty and leaders to develop and implement the FNP curriculum and role is described. The cohesion of the nursing leaders across education, government, professional associations, and communities is central to the evolution of the FNP program.
