Interface Design

Abstract

It is the purpose of an interface to provide access to the services of a system and to restrict the view into a system. The interfaces, placed in the boundaries—the skin (see Sect.  11.2)—of a system, should remain stable even in the face of system evolution. The proper design and placement of the interfaces ensures that minor changes in one part have no impact on the operation of other parts.
