Abstract

A perspective electric propulsion installation of high-capacity vessel is considered. The analysis of the existing structures of the electric propulsion systems is carried out. The advantages and disadvantages of the construction and operation of the existing systems of electric propulsion systems are considered. The idea of using a cascade frequency converter in the electric propulsion installation of the vessel was proposed, which will eliminate the cumbersome and heavy matching transformer from the electric drive power circuit. Various variants of the design of electric propulsion installation of a vessel with a cascade electric converter are presented. Recommendations for the implementation of the proposed structure are suggested. The advantages and the expected effect of the implementation of an electric propulsion vessel with a cascade electric converter are presented.
