Abstract

The process of handling container cargo at the terminals in the form of an open open-end queue system (QS) is investigated. Based on the classical QS theory, we can assume that the flow of ships to the port is a regular stream of events, in which events follow one after another, strictly according to schedule, at equal intervals of time. In a real-life setting, the approach moments of the courts are irregular streams of events.
