Abstract

The article is devoted to the theoretical study of energy efficiency and a feasibility of using the technology of a “green roof” in the coatings of public buildings for large and great cities. The need to optimize energy consumption in large cities becomes a prerequisite for the improvement and implementation of innovative, energy-saving and technological systems as a method of solving the problem of energy efficiency of buildings. During creation of a “green roof” in the coating of the building, there is an increase in its energy efficiency, which is the result of reducing heat losses through the outer coating for heating in winter. A qualitative comparative analysis of the results of thermal calculations of existing non-operated insulated roofs and their coatings reorganized into the operated “green roof” is made for two public buildings. According to the results of calculations, the assessment of energy efficiency of public buildings coating when constructing a “green roof” is made. The present study shows that the construction of a “green roof” with a substrate thickness of 300 mm in the coating of two public buildings leads to an increase in heat transfer resistance of more than 5%, which leads to a decrease in energy consumption.
