Abstract
I explain my own winding journey to shed light on how paths in mathematics can unfold. I share this personal story to remind us that you can start at any point and get to any other point, to share my own litmus test for when to move forward bravely and boldly, and to encourage each of us to keep searching for the space where we are productive.
