Abstract
This chapter explores fear as a powerful emotion that influences behavior . Studies on fear appeals are underscored and means of mitigating the fear response to change behavior . Fear appeals have been employed in politics and public health. There is an opportunity to consider “fear ” in systems and approaches for removing and reducing “fear ” as a barrier to change for good.
