Abstract
The concept of “heart teams” is becoming more frequent in the literature and lexicon of healthcare providers. Some of the teams have historical roots in the management of complex patients (heart failure) and those needing complex technology such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). There is no clear definition of heart teams nor is there a clear organizational model for those wishing to implement multiple teams within an organization.
This chapter provides insights into the processes, challenges, and learnings of an organization which systematically implemented multiple heart teams as part of its corporate structure.
