Abstract
Surgical management of SFOA is centred upon the basic tenets of conventional jaw surgery. The surgeon plans the jaw surgery on fundamental principles with consideration to concepts that are specific to SFOA. As SFOA leverages on surgery to assist in the orthodontic correction, it would therefore generally involve segmental osteotomies more commonly than compared to conventional jaw surgery. The chapter looks into the types of surgery that can be carried out for the successful management of skeletal deformity, along with brief description of indications, complications, considerations, and views expressed on achieving stability of the surgery outcome with regard to SFOA.
