Abstract
The day of scheduled prisoner transport had arrived, and Pëtr Vasil’evich bid his farewell to all his friends and the residents of Shenkursk. There were also many brothers and sisters who came from the neighbouring villages in order to see him off and tell him for the last time: “Good luck [Dobryǐ chas] to you, Pëtr Vasil’evich, and may our Lord bless you and grant you well-being on every day of your life. You are leaving good memories behind you that we will never forget. You comforted us in our privations and poverty not only with your words, but with your deeds as well.” While saying this, many people wept.
