Ilioinguinal and Iliohypogastric Nerves

Abstract

The ilioinguinal and iliohypogastric nerves are branches of the lumbar plexus and are consistently located between the transversus abdominis and internal oblique muscle when the ultrasound probe is placed lateral to the anterior superior iliac spine. This chapter discusses the anatomy, sonoanatomy, patient selection, and injection technique of ultrasound-guided injection.
