Abstract
This first chapter in the uterine cervix section illustrates and describes normal uterine cervix anatomy and histology. The uterine cervix is the most distal part of the uterus; its name implies the neck or neck-like part. Its size ranges from 2 to 3 cm in length, and it ends in the isthmus or lower uterine segment most proximally. It is composed of the ectocervix and the endocervix.
