Abstract

Gestational trophoblastic tumors are lesions derived from products of conception as opposed to tumors or lesions derived from the female gynecologic organs or patient’s tissue. These lesions can be divided into those that are non-neoplastic (villous) and those that are neoplastic proliferations; examples of the latter are choriocarcinoma, placental site trophoblastic tumor, and epithelioid trophoblastic tumor.
