Abstract
When discussing crystalline and amorphous, a reference in the crystal structure is made. Crystalline refers to the orderly structure of the atoms, while the amorphous crystals are disorderly. This difference refers to the difference in the terms, but if a metal is crystalline in structure and another metal is amorphous in structure how does this difference manifest itself in the solid? Is it stronger or weaker? More apt to be brittle or is it stronger and harder? Observing the difference is keen; however the importance is to know how the difference affects the structure of the metal.
Energy, energy, everywhere…. In the investigation of the structure of solids, the crystal structure may be organized or disorganized. The characteristics of the material, malleability and density, are a result of the arrangement of the crystal structure.
