Abstract

What do telephones, carpets, and even fleece we wear have in common? (Fig. 14.1) They all contain plastic. We store our food in it, drink water from it, and even brush our teeth with it. It’s cheap, convenient, and versatile – but how much do we really know about this wonder material? (Fig. 14.2).
