Abstract

Using the combination of independent methods, the process of precipitating in the Ni2+-Al3+-SO4 2−-H2O system at an initial ratio of spinel cations was investigated. In accordance with the equilibrium constants of the formation of compounds, a thermodynamic analysis of the coprecipitation process was performed. Using the method of finite concentrations, electrical conductivity measurement, potentiometric titration, the possibility of formation of nickel and aluminum polyhydroxides was established. An optimal range of pH values for coprecipitation was obtained for the preparation of precipitates, which are the precursors of the synthesis of alumo-nickel spinel – 7.5-8. The temperature regimes of thermolysis are determined.
