Abstract

Otte Brahe (1518–1571) was a nobleman and governor of the Helsingborg castle in Denmark who, around 1540, promised his brother, Joergen, that if he had a son the latter could adopt him. But, in 1546, when Brahe did beget a son, he went back on his promise.
