Abstract

Patients with chronic pain undergoing surgery present many challenges. Chronic pain patients undergoing neurosurgery present a unique subset of these challenges that can be difficult to manage as the underlying pathology of their neurologic disease can limit available therapies. This chapter focuses on the perioperative management of a chronic pain patient scheduled for neurosurgery.
