Abstract
This paper describes the identification and treatment in Canada of individuals who have an attenuated psychosis syndromes. There is a range of studies from only a few universities in Canada, some of which are in conjunction with studies in the USA, in particular, the North American Prodrome Longitudinal Studies (NAPLS). Brief details on the clinical aspects of these studies are presented. Although there are some barriers to services for youth who may be at risk, Canada offers a wide range of programs and help for youth who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis. Specialized clinics for youth at risk for psychosis are rare, and most of those with attenuated psychosis syndromes would receive help within a first episode program.
