Abstract

A strict definition of a fluid (gas or liquid) is a difficult one, since the distinction between solids and fluids is not so sharp one. Often a solid (such as plastics) may act like a fluid after applying a strong force for a sufficient time, or a liquid (such as paint) may solidify if it is allowed to stand for a time.
